Southampton Netball Association is pleased to provide a platform for Southampton Netball news, league information and events. It is the aim of the committee to maintain this site and keep all Southampton netballers up to date with local match results and news.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SOUTHAMPTON MEMBERS AT HNA GGA
Southampton Netball Association were well represented at the HNA Goalden Globes held on Friday Evening in Farnborough.
The Award Ceremony was run to recognise the many volunteers in Hampshire. Medals were presented to both Junior and Senior Hampshire League teams. Picking up honours from Southampton were Dreams, Fleming Park, Squall, Swan and Weston Park in the Junior League and Swanway and Winchester in the Senior League.
MANY MANY Congratulations to our volunteers who were recognised for their roles they play in Netball at Grass Root Level.
PETER BENNETT received the Officiating Award in recognition for all the hard work he does in developing umpires in Southampton and the support he gives to County . Peter works in excess of 40 hours a week to ensure umpires are supported with the mentoring programme, fulfilling umpiring commitments for his own club, other local clubs and has provided a programme of support for umpires for the Hampshire Junior League. He umpires, mentors and organises testing for beginners. Many umpires have achieved their awards due to the relentless efforts by Peter.

JACKIE GIBBINGS received the Unsung Hero Award for the endless time and hard work she puts into her club, SNA and HNA. Jackie has supported Central Park to maintain a high standard as a grass roots club, both in administration, umpiring and coaching. She is always willing to help others in all aspects and maintains the finances of HNA and SNA very efficiently.

JILL KENNETT received the Muriel McNally Award for service at grass roots level for over 20 years. Jill is the Chair of Swan and works extremely hard and efficiently for the Club. They have grown substantially over the years and Jill is behind every decision made. She has set up satellite sites for the club to encourage participation with particular emphasis on juniors. The club have been successful this season at both junior and senior level. They have finished top of Division 3 at Regional and won the Hampshire League.

UMPIRING IN SOUTHAMPTON LEAGUES
From September 2014 all umpires umpiring in Southampton Leagues must have achieved the correct level of the Beep Test. For beginners and C this is 4.1 and for B and above it is 5.1. If you have been authorised to umpire the Premier League then you will also be expected to achieve 5.1.
ALL UMPIRES WILL BE EXPECTED TO ACHEIVE THE CORRECT LEVEL EVEN THOSE AFFILIATED OUTSIDE OF THE SOUTHAMPTON LEAGUE.
Please see the Events page for the dates for the next Beep Tests. Even if you achieved your beep test for 2013 it MUST be re-taken to be able to umpire in the 2014/15 season.
WINTER LEAGUE VOTE
The result of the vote to end the winter league at the half way stage or continue to play all fixtures and use all available Saturdays is
Option One 14 votes Option Two 9 votes, Abstentions 3
Option one is carried and the league will play the two cancelled fixtures from the first half of the season. Fixtures can be found on the fixture page.
